Man Arrested for Extorting Money from Basketball Player Kiefer Ravena
The PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group in cooperation with the basketball star, conducted an entrapment operation to catch Ng. The man was said to threaten Ravena of ‘leaking’ photos’ if not given money. The suspect has been in contact with the two-time UAAP MVP through Viber.

"We’ve been silent the past couple of weeks because my parents have been consulting with law enforcement to get to the bottom of this matter. According to police, Mr. Ng will be charged with robbery and extortion, and could face a minimum of 12 to a maximum of 20 years in prison,” says Ravena in a statement.

Ravena’s camp hopes that after having the first suspect in custody, more leads and information will be gathered. They also hope the harassment and blackmailing would end.

Meanwhile, the suspect denies the allegations and claims he was merely offering information in exchange for money.

The basketball star is back in the Philippines to participate for Alab Pilipinas in the ASEAN Basketball League. He has been in the USA since he graduated last year, trying his luck in the NBA D-League. He had to endure the scandal after purported lewd photos of him sent to a model was ‘leaked’ online and spread on social media sites.
