Philippine bet Angelia Ong won the title of 2015 Miss Earth last night in the coronation night recently held at the Marx Halle in Vienna, Austria.

Rising above more than 80 other beautiful candidates, Ong succeeded Filipina  Jamie Herrel who had won the crown the previous year. Ong is the third Philippine representative who had brought home the title. Karla Henry was the first to win title for the country in 2008. For the first time in 15 years, a country won back to back in Miss Earth.

The 24 year old Filipina graduated in De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde in Manila and shared that she aims to join in United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris this year.

As part of the competition, Ong aims to be an active advocate of the environment. She shared that she will still continue the advicacy she had started since she joined the competition as a candidate.

She is an active candidate for Restoration, Reforestation, minimizing carbon footprints and 5R. The 5R stands for Rethink, Reuse, Reduce, Recycle, and Respect. Her campaign will center in her advocacy which she calls #WEWILLBECAUSEWECAN.

Social media is a big part of her campaign which aims to raise awareness in people about climate change. In little ways, people can contribute in the recovery of the environment. She cited that identifying the problem is the very first step to aid the environmental problem. She believes that an educated society is the big step for true reformation. 

The pageant will be aired in ABS CBN before the noon time show It's Showtime.
