Filipinos are known as one of the most passionate basketball fans in the world and being part of the basketball games in the Olympics is one of the goals of the PBA players and one of the dreams of Filipinos. Nerlens Noel, the Philadelphia 76ers rookie and Gilas Pilipinas' Gabe Norwood believe that Philippine basketball can finally be part of the Olympics for the first time after more than forty years.

Norwood shared that the way Philippine basketball is currently fairing, there is a chance to reach the Olympics. Norwood was part of the Gilas team that surprised international basketball fans with their historic return to the international basketball courts during the 2014 FIBA World Cup held in Spain.

Nerlens Noel Believe that Philippine Basketball can Still be Part of Olympics
Noel said that the Philippines' passion when it comes to basketball had reached him and he shared that the desire and attitude of the Filipinos can make it possible to reach the Olympics. Noel was one of the NBA Rookie of the Year candidate.

The two basketball icons recently made appearance in the KFC's launch of their newest meals. KFC’s Texas Barbeque and Korean Bibimbap Rice Bowls had been introduced at Mall of Asia held last April 27.

Gabe Norwood of Gilas Pilipinas and Nerlens Noel of the Philadelphia 76ers are the chosen brand ambassadors of KFC as the two newest KFC meals represents the Eastern and Western flavors with unique twist in the palate of the Filipinos according to Errol Magdato, KFC marketing manager.

The event launch featured a media briefing, a shootout and three-on-three fun games together with the fans.

It was in the event that the two basketball icons voiced their hopes that the Philippines will finally have a shot in the Olympics and it is already within the reach of the Philippine basketball players.

It was in 1936 when the Philippines first joined the Summer Olympics basketball games and placed fifth.
