Philippine Basketball Association fines Purefoods Star import Daniel Orton with a staggering P250,000 after Orton called their losing game against KIA as a joke. Last Wednesday, February 18, 2015, Orton vented his frustrations over losing against KIA and said that Manny Pacquiao seemed to be getting special treatment from the PBA.

It was on News 5 where Orton told Lyn Olavario that basketball had been made into mockery in PBA. During the game, Orton was only able to score six points and was fouled out. He shared that the referees had been making his beloved game into a mockery. He even called Manny Pacquiao as part of the joke as the Filipino Boxing Icon is not to be called a professional basketball player. Due to the strong statements made publicly by Orton he had been summoned by the commissioners of PBA.

With the PBA Commissioner’s statement, they said Orton had made disrespectful and offensive comments about the league and a fellow player which is also the head coach of another team.

Chito Salud, the PBA commissioner shared that Orton’s statements and antics had been insulting behavior that is unacceptable for the PBA league. With the fine of P250,000, Orton had received one of the highest fine slapped by PBA to the players and coaches.
