"Fifty Shades of Grey" official soundtrack had ranked 2nd on the Billboards 200. After selling 258,000 units, it had already marked the highest sales of soundtrack second only to Michael Jackson’s 2009 soundtrack for ‘This Is It’. Out of 258,000 units, 210,000 were sold as traditional album sales. "Fifty Shades of Grey" features a soundtrack of multi-artist compilation including Ellie Goulding, the Rolling Stones, Annie Lennox, Beyonce, the Weeknd and others. It was a mix of original singles from various artists. The track list must have been number one in an ordinary day if only not for Drake’s ‘If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late’ catching 535,000 units of sales according to Billboard.

"Fifty Shades of Grey" ha hit blockbuster Canada and US theaters since February13 and reached around $93 million in just three days as per Box Office Mojo. It was derived from the erotic romance novel with same title written sung by E. L. James. It had aroused mixed opinions especially in the Philippines. In the end, it was shown in the country with R18.
