Pangako Sa’Yo remake is officially introduced to the Kapamilya viewers, and this time Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla will portray the iconic roles of Angelo Buenavista and Yna Macaspac. It had been 15 years since the original Pangako Sa’yo had aired in Kapamila Network which boosted the careers of then loveteam Jericho Rosales and Kristine Hermosa, and on the night of Decenber 2, 2014, the teaser of the new Pangako Sa’Yo had been aired.

Dubbed as the timeless classic, Pangako Sa’yo which aired on 2000 to 2002 was considered as a pioneering teleserye that was not only able to catch the hearts of the Filipinos but also those in Thailand, Zambia, Ghana, China, Malaysia, Tanzania, Indonesia, Kenya, Cambodia, Namibia, Singapore, Botswana and Cameroon. Indeed, the Pangako Sa’Yo, known internationally as ‘The Promise’ had been a global success and made the characters household names even now.

Aside from Angelo and Yna, Amor Powers portrayed by Eula Valdez will forever be an icon as a strong character who had gone from rugs to riches. The story spins around Angelo and Yna’s love intertwined with family secrets, lies and revenge. The first conflict turned as the couple thought they were siblings, then the events turned again as the truth fell to it’s right places.
According to the ABS-CBN site, together with Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla are Jodi Sta. Maria portraying Amor Powers and Angelica Panganiban who will take up the part of Claudia Buenavista. Claudia Buenavista was fiercely played by Jean Garcia in the original series.

The new version of Pangako Sa’Yo to be played by Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla will be directed by the original director, Rory Quintos. While it is not clear if the story will have a different twist and turns, the viewers shared different opinions.
