After the much anticipated ‘Eaten Alive’ have aired on December 7, 2014 in Discovery Channel, many expressed their disappointment as it had turned out that Paul Rosolie was not engulfed wholly by the anaconda. Discovery Channel had posted a series of publicity video clips to get viewers hook but many shared their expectations were not met.

The American naturalist, Paul Rosolie, had once more faced the anaconda he had first met in 2008 and challenge himself to be eaten alive. Complete with a safety team with engineers who built him a safety suit, he was confident that he will be able to be eaten alive, much to the disdain of many, it was only the crown of his head that was able to head the jaw of the snake.

With a black suit specially designed for Rosolie, he was covered with pig’s blood to be more appetizing for the snake. In the video, he crawled in fours towards the snake while the whole team and his wife watched. The female snake soon came up to him and rooled it body around him. Rosolie, as planned, was about to be eaten head first.
Realizing that he had been constricted by the snake and his arm might be broken due to the pressure, he asked for assistance. The footage of the anaconda’s jaw from the camera attached to his head was not enough to satisfy the viewers and the critics. Many voiced out that the title had been completely misleading.

The ads and video clips put up over the internet and had circulated over months. Many had been curious and excited to see how a man could survive being inside an anaconda but many were disappointed and ridiculed the show.
