Nexus users will have to wait until November 12, 2014 before they get to finally have Android 5.0 lollipop updates. The Android update will be on the same day of the release of Google’s Nexus 6. The delay had been speculated to be due to a bug that had been draining battery power whenever the device is connected to a WiFi.
Many had been disappointed for being put to wait when they had expected that the update will be coming out sooner. Many had voiced out that it is a bad marketing strategy when Google had announced that an update will be available when in truth it will still take a couple of days. The news meanwhile had been received well by some who had reported that a bug had been present in the current Android 5.0 version.
Google Nexus had also been busy responding to Nexus users who shared their problems. They said that an update will be coming out in the coming weeks to assure the users that a solution is actually on its way. As of the moment, only factory images of the Nexus 9 and Nexus Player have been released.
Considered as biggest overhaul released for Android devices, Android 5.0 had been released for Nexus 4, Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 smartphones for AOSP developments. ROM developers considered this good news as they will be able to try out the Android 5.0 before the updates comes out and they will be able to customize it according to their plans. There might be differently customized Android 5.0 Lollipop according based on the ROM developer’s ideas.
Android 5.0 Lollipop is said to have new features such as Material Design UI, wallpapers, new quick settings support, notifications overhaul, and full Android Runtime support. People are still looking forward for the Android 5.0 Lollipop updates to be released on November 12 for fixed bugs.
