Comedian Tiya Pusit passed away at age 66 after she underwent double bypass surgery nearly a month ago at the Philippine Heart Center in Quezon City according to her sister Nova Villa. Comedienne Tia Pusit died 11:30 p.m. of Thursday, October 2, 2014.
Myrna Villanueva as she was named in real life, died almost a month after she had undergone a double bypass surgery as reported by Abs-Cbn. According to her sister as told in Kapamilya network, Tia Pusit had a lot of medical complications such as a brain hemorrhage since September 9 when she had a surgery. Since earlier this year, she had been in the hospital because of aortic aneurysm and Kidney failure.
Her wake will be starting tomorrow in St. Peter Memorial Chapel. She left her four children. In the past months, her family and friends had been known to be working hard to raise funds for her hospitalization. A concert was planned for the benefit of her hospital bills.
Inday Garutay, ( Christopher Borja ) said that the concert in Zirkoh in Quezon City will still push through and the money that they would be able to collect will be used for her funeral expenses.
Tia Pusit had been in show business for more than 30 years and had been know for her energetic way of acting and original comedic parts. She was discovered as a radio talent in Radyo Veritas with her sister. She first started to act on TV in 1982 in "Eh, Kasi Babae" with the lead actress Gloria Diaz.. She had been in a lot of movies and her comedic ways had left a signature and soon she became a household name.
Her last TV project was being a nanny for Kim Chui in Ikaw Lamang. Many people are expected to visit her wake starting tomorrow.
