Controversial ‘It's Not Rape, It's A Snuggle With A Struggle’ shirt had been pulled out of the Department Store section of SM malls after the photo of the said shirt circulated around the social medias last Monday, September 22. Upset netizens shared the photos more that 3,500 times on Facebook and praised Karen Kunawicz for stepping up against the shirt in the famous mall.

When the news reached SM management, they pulled out the said shirt and released a statement that the shirt’s message was unacceptable and they could not tolerate the incident. While the company professed that they were oblivious on how the shirts got into the racks and mixed with the assorted t-shirts, some netizens demanded that the management make a public apology to the rape victims and donate to organizations supporting human rights.

Karen Kunawicz, who originally posted the photos taken in Megamall Department store shared her disgust that the unacceptable shirt is in the boy’s section. She even advised boys that if girls refused them, then they should take the girls seriously.
Also SM management said the the shirt does not support any malicious intent that are sensitive and irresponsible. Somehow, Director Dinglasan had said that the shirt might have been one of shirts in the collection of Boys Night Out. The BNO is a radio show hosted by Sam YG, Slick Rick and Tony Toni who were recently signed by SM as their endorsers. Apparently, Sam YG Twitted about the issue and clarified that the shirt does not belong in the BNO tees. He said that rape is a serious thing and they are against it.
