Bacall died Tuesday morning of a stroke in her house at Dakota located in the Upper West Side building near Manhattan Central Park.
Lauren Bacall (Betty Joan Perske) was born on September 16, 1924 in the Bronx, New York. She was an American film, stage actress, model, known for her distinctive husky voice, and sultry looks. She receives an Academy Honorary Award as selected by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in recognition of her central place in the Golden Age of motion pictures and many other awards.
