Justice for Anria Anne Galang Espiritu Case Updates: Three Suspects were arrested and one more on hunt as of August 19, 2014. The 26-year old woman in Calumpit, Bulacan was raped and murdered after she wasn’t able to come home the night of August 14, 2014. It was the night before her death.
The mother of the victim was worried that night when she was not able to come home and she had a notion that something bad might have happened to her daughter. The daughter was identified with the aid of her latest profile picture which depicted her attire that day.
A jeepney driver together with his wife went to Espiritu’s wake, and after 30 minutes the two left. When they left, the family grew suspicious over the driver since they noticed a lot of fingernail scratches on his body.
At around 3 PM, the couple went back to the wake, but the driver was nabbed by police. The police officer made the driver take off his clothes and they noticed a lot of scratches that he claimed to be because of his quarrel with his wife. The name of the driver was Elmer Joson.
Before this, two suspects were caught and will undergo interrogations. According to P/Supt. Concio, Chief of Police, Calumpit, BUlacan, there were contradictions in the statements of the other witnesses, especially of the friends of Anria.
The two suspects were identified as Melvin Ulam and Ramil Diarca. The fourth suspect is still on hunt by the authorities.
Meanwhile, Espiritu’s family is crying for justice over the death of their member. Her father even asked that the suspects to be shown to him and they will not hear any condemnation because God is the one who will take charge of everything.
