There is a sort of confusion and disappointment from the fans who wanted to watch an exhibition game between Gilas Pilipinas and NBA since it did not materialize. Twitter hashtags #GilasLastHomeStand  #LastHomeStand are now trending because of this issue. The fans were expecting an action packed game between the two teams on Tuesday at SMART-Araneta Coliseum but that didn’t happen. Instead, a practice of the Gilas Pilipinas with the NBA stars happened. There were so many fans who reacted with what happened, in fact, PLDT is willing to refund the funds to the fans.

Fans were disappointed when it was announced that Blake Griffin and Paul George were unable to make it to the event and despite the words of Gilas coach Chot Reyes and Ariel Fermin of PLDT that the fans will be able to watch how the NBA stars help the Gilas in their training, lack of energy was still evident on the fans. The cheapest ticket for the game was P750, while the most expensive patron ticket was P23,000.

Update: How to Get your Refund from PLDT on Last Home Stand tickets

Last Stand Home Confused the Fans makes PLDT Issue a Refund

DeMar DeRozan, Terrence Ross and Tyson Chandler made an exhibition of dunking but still the fans were not giving 10% of their cheers to the NBA stars. This is due to the fact that they wanted a game, an exhibition game to be exact, between the Gilas and the NBA stars. When the basketball stars threw balls to the crowd during the break, it was the time when the loudest cheers filled the coliseum.

A tweet from @PLDTHome saying that they will issue a refund.
Francis T. J. Ochoa said on his tweet that they never said that there would be a game.
As quoted on Francis T. J. Ochoa latest tweet he also apologies of what happend.
Another tweet from @interaksyon saying that #GilasLastHOMEStand event tomorrow (July 23) also cancelled.
The event could have been a good one but it could be better if the expectations of the fans who bought ticket were met. The problem now is on a Twitter post, editor Francis Ochoa quoted Fermin saying that there was no announcement from the PLDT that there will be a game. Now this is an issue that needs to be tackled by the management of PLDT. In meanwhile, let us support the Gilas Pilipinas in their upcoming games. References: abs-cbnnews, gmanetwork.
