This Year 2014 Miss Philippines Earth is Jamie Herrell from Cebu. Truly, the Cebuanos are so proud of this 19-year-old lady who was crowned at Mall of Asia Arena that took place on Sunday. An interesting fact about Herrell is that she is an animal rights advocate and this is written in the Miss Philippines Earth website.  She is against animal cruelty and she will fight for the rights of these creatures. She has seen a lot of cruelties to animals by people she knew and that made her feel bad. Being against animal cruelty is her environmental advocacy.

Risa Hontiveros, former Akbayan lawmaker was in charge of asking her a question and the question goes this way: "Do you think that we, human beings, have been good children to Mother Earth?" and Herrell’s answer talks about us (people) who have not been good children to Mother Earth and if we are only able to help her, she will help us back.  Her answer amazed everyone.
