Manila, Philippines – The wait is over for the accused Deniece Cornejo who surrendered to PNP after days of finding her location due to the fact that an arrest warrant was issued against her for serious illegal detention. The case was filed by actor, host Vhong Navarro. Cornejo surrendered to the Philippine National Police headquarters at Camp Crame in Quezon City and she was accompanied by her grandmother Florencia Cornejo, granduncle Rod Cornejo, and her lawyers.

According to reports, Cornejo’s surrender to the PNP was past 4 p.m. and this is according to PNP spokesperson Chief Supt. Reuben Sindac. She then went to the office of PNP chief Alan Purisima with black polo and maong jeans with a blue cap covering her eyes as her attire. She will then be brought to the PNP Crimial Investigation and Detection Group’s Women and Children’s Protection Desk for the rest of the procedures. This issue has went viral and became sensational following the arrest of Cedric Lee and Zimmer Raz.

Cornejo’s surrender to the PNP was past 4 p.m May 5, 2014

There is an assurance that she will be treated fairly as a normal detainee and this is according to Sindac. Meanwhile, the search is still on for Ferdinand Guerrero and Jed Fernandez who are also accused of the said charges.

We can still remember what happened that night inside Cornejo’s condo unit when Navarro was mauled by Lee’s group. After a thorough investigation and procedure for the case, the result was an issuance of arrest warrants for the accused. Because of what happened, Cornejo also filed a rape case against Navarro and it was dismissed by the DOJ. This made Navarro very happy and the arrest of the suspects for mauling made him congratulate the NBI for a job well done.
