Sheena Liam emerged victorious on Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 2 over her two remaining opponents named Jodilly Pendre and Katarina Rodriguez of the Philippines.

Tanjong Jara Resort in Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia was the venue of the said event along with the editorial shoot and runway event that the entire Asia watched and held their breath for the possible winner. According to a report from Rappler, there was a performance shown by Justice Crew of Australia and also one contestant named Janice Hermijanto hosted a runway show. This was her comeback.

In the event, Rodriguez was sent home first due to the fact that the judges said that she has grown like a model but she doesn’t look like an editorial model but more of a beauty model. The judges are looking for something that fit for the description of an Asian model. In fact, host Nadya Hutagalong said that she’ll never forget the first time she saw her post, it was terrible.

Sheena Liam is Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 2 Winner

On the other hand Liam won the crown. The judges called her “the face of modern Asia” with her overall looks and impact. If we are going to look back on the history of Liam trying to enter the contest, she was rejected during the first season of the show. Liam’s original strategy was just to become quit and still during the competition but everything changed when she was there because there is a big competition going on and she cannot just afford not to do her best knowing that she has to fire her best shot.

Liam also said that with regards to fashion, Malaysia is more commercial and it is not most likely fashion in the real sense. And good thing that things are changing and getting better for the country. They are trying to accept more looks and faces that gives rise to a whole new approach to fashion. Liam believes that she has to accept new faces and turn into different faces for fashion’s sake. And with her victory, there is so many things that this young lady should look forward to in the future. Congratulations Sheena Williams.
