Personal life of Vice Ganda
 

Vice Ganda with real name Jose Mari Viceral was born on March 31, 1976. He is a famous stand-up comedian featuring the typical life of Filipino people. Vice Ganda grew up in Jose Abad Santos in Manuguit, Tondo, Manila and is the youngest of 5 siblings with 2 brothers and 2 sisters. His father died when he was 13 years old and that led her mother to work abroad to support her family.

Vice Ganda studied political science in Far Eastern University. It was the year 1999 when he started his career as stand-up comedian performing at “The Library”. One interesting fact about Vice Ganda is that his father didn’t know he’s a gay and he hid it from her mother to avoid disappointment. His two brothers are also gay.

The best break given to Vice Ganda aside from being a star in the two high grossing films is being a Showtime host. Vice Ganda is currently working with Anne Curtis, Vhong Navarro, Jhong Hilario, Kim Atienza, Billy Crawford and many more. This made him more popular along with his created dance steps and the like. He has already performed in several comedy bars and is making tours across the country as guest on several shows. His first major concert was on May 15, 2010 at the Araneta Coliseum entitled “May Nagtext Yung Totoo Vice Ganda sa Araneta”. On July 1, 2011, took place his second major success “Araneta Concert: Eto na Vice Ganda, Totoong Sample sa Araneta”. He is currently hosting Gandang Gabi Vice which adds more to his popularity.

Vice Ganda went through a controversy with Jessica Soho concerning a “rape joke” that became a “talk-of-the-town”. The said GMA news anchor and documentary host reacted on Vice’s joke that sparked conversation on social networking sites. The issue also divided the netizens into two sides: those who sympathized with Jessica and those who were with Vice. Vice Ganda made an apology that ended the issue.


Vice Ganda’s style of joking is adopted by so many Filipinos especially his fans. The fact is he is often imitated.
